Welcome to the Chesapeake Psychological Associates Assessment and Testing Center

Located at 1210 Progressive Drive, Suite 101, Chesapeake, VA

Established in 2021, our Assessment and Testing Center was created in response to the growing need for high-quality psychological testing and evaluations in Chesapeake and surrounding communities. Our team includes Licensed Clinical Psychologists, trained psychometricians, and dedicated administrative staff — all committed to providing compassionate, accurate, and meaningful psychological assessments for both children and adults.

What We Do

    • Clarify diagnoses

    • Inform treatment planning

    • Provide targeted treatment recommendations

We follow gold-standard testing protocols. Psychological assessments are a powerful tool in understanding and supporting mental health. As defined by the American Psychological Association, psychological assessment involves the use of standardized instruments to measure behaviors, emotional functioning, intelligence, personality, values, and more.

The Assessment Process

  • The process begins with a clinical interview to gather background information, explore presenting concerns, and determine appropriate tests. This interview is crucial to tailoring the assessment to your unique needs.

  • Following the interview, we schedule your testing session. At this appointment:

    • A psychologist or psychometrician will administer various assessments (e.g., cognitive, personality, ADHD).

    • Some assessments may be completed digitally, while others involve one-on-one administration.

  • Individuals familiar with the examinee (e.g., parents, teachers, partners) may be asked to complete rating forms, especially in cases involving ADHD or pediatric evaluations. Gathering input across settings helps us gain a more complete picture.
